Lead By Example

This morning my daughter was told to “not be goofy like mum.” When she was told this, she responded, “My mum is not goofy. She listens to God all day long.” When I heard that response, I smiled. I knew that I’m not always the best Christian, but I was glad that she is watching and that I am leaving an impression.

We are supposed to lead by example. Now if you are not a parent, don’t count yourselves out. Everyone is supposed to lead a life that shows Christ working within, a life that when people see you on the street, they see Christ. When, if asked, people you associate with would say that they knew you had a relationship with Christ.

We do not always have good days in our walk, but if we are trying our best, people will see that we are trying to follow God and His Word. People that do not know Christ will wonder why there is something different about you. Your words and your actions can be the only gospel that a person will see in life.

If you aren’t already, today is a great day to start living intentionally. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to stand firm in your faith, to be an immovable child of God. Dive into the Word. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to listen to God throughout your day. It all starts with being intentional. With the Spirit’s guidance, you can listen to God all day long.

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.” – Ephesians 5:1-2 [NASB]
