“And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.” – 1 John 2:17 [NLT]
When going for a haircut, many people like to take photos with them of how they wish to have their hair look when it is complete. I remember taking photos in to the stylist and asking to have my hair a particular way. When the job was finished, I would look at the photo and at my hair and notice that things did not match up. Every time I took in a photo, my hair was different. It didn’t matter the stylist or the style.
When we go into the salon to get our hair style changed, taking with us a photo, we are looking at how great someone’s hair looks on someone’s head. It will look differently on our own head. In the same way, God has a different photo for each of us, a different plan for each of our lives. We can have this photo of how we would like things to look, but our photo is not going to match up with someone else. We can imagine things turning out a particular way, but our expectations are not met.
We must remember that our perspective is very different from God’s perspective. Today don’t try to hand God a photo of how you want things to be, but rather, ask Him for His will for your life. That photo is so much greater.
